We are currently seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Buyer to join the team of one of our top clients. This role is located in the Midland area and of course in the Oil & Energy industry.
As a Buyer, you will play a critical role in managing the procurement process for our company. You will be responsible for sourcing, selecting and negotiating with suppliers in order to obtain the best possible prices and terms for our organization.

Responsibilities:
- Conduct market research to identify potential suppliers and maintain a robust supplier database
- Evaluate supplier bids and negotiate contracts and pricing terms
- Works with suppliers to obtain product or service information such as price, availability, and delivery schedule
- Expedites delivery of goods to users both domestic and international
- Leads or assists Strategic sourcing projects and the Strategic sourcing group
- Assist the Corporate AP department with resolving supplier payment and system issues
- Collaborate with internal stakeholders to understand their procurement needs and requirements
- Develop and implement procurement strategies to optimize costs and ensure timely delivery of goods and services
- Monitor supplier performance and address any issues or concerns
- Review and analyze purchase requisitions and identify opportunities for cost savings
- Keep abreast of industry trends and changes in supply chain management practices
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration or a related field
- Proven experience as a Buyer in the Oil & Energy industry
- Strong negotiation and communication skills
- Previous experience with Oracle, JD Edwards and E1 would be preferred
- Familiarity with sourcing and procurement processes
- Proficient in using procurement software and systems
- Excellent attention to detail and ability to multitask effectively
- Ability to work well under pressure and meet tight deadlines
- Knowledge of industry regulations and compliance standards
