Title: Senior Structural Engineer
Six Month Contract
Onsite - Boulder CO
Pay up to $71.50/hr. DOQ
What You’ll Do:
- Perform structural analysis on spacecraft, instruments, payloads, optics, mechanisms, and ground support equipment.
- Use closed-form and finite element analysis techniques in stress analysis and structural dynamics.
- Develop loads and environments for structure and components.
- Support structural and environmental testing for static, modal, acoustic, shock, and vibration.
- Write detailed reports for test and analysis activities.
- Maintain a regular and predictable work schedule.
- Establish and maintain effective working relationships within the department, the Strategic Business Units, Strategic Capabilities Units, and the Company. Interact appropriately with others to maintain a positive and productive work environment.
- Perform other duties as necessary.

- Nastran experience with static, modal, buckling, and frequency response.
- The ability to support multiple efforts and manage competing priorities.
- Good interpersonal and communication skills and the ability to work effectively in a team environment.
Required Education, Experience & Skills:
A BS degree or higher in Engineering or a related technical field, plus eight or more years of related experience, is required.
- Each higher-level related degree, i.e., Master’s or Ph.D., may substitute for two years of related experience. Related technical experience may be considered instead of education. The degree must be from a university, college, or school accredited by an agency recognized by the US Secretary of the Department of Education.
- Nastran experience with static, modal, buckling, and frequency response.
- The ability to support multiple efforts and manage competing priorities.
- Practical interpersonal and communication skills and the ability to work effectively in a team environment.
Onsite Work Environment: This position requires regular in-person engagement, with five days of each typically scheduled week spent onsite in the primary work location. Travel and local commutes between BAE Campuses and other possible non-BAE locations may be required.
Preferred Education, Experience & Skills:
- An advanced degree in a structures-related field.
- General Software: Simcenter, FEMAP, LS-Dyna, Abaqus, MATLAB, Adams, Solidworks, Python
- FEM Applications: Explicit, Transient, Nonlinear, Multibody Dynamics, Line of Sight, and Jitter
- Structural Analysis: Bolted and Bonded Joints, Welds, Electronics, Antennas, Fracture and Fatigue
- Materials: Composites, Ceramics, and other high-temperature materials
