Description:
The sanitation team members masterfully and efficiently prepare food production surfaces, machines, parts, utensils, and the plant to a quality control-inspected and run-ready state for day shift production runs. Sanitation team members scour and scrub away the day’s production food and packaging material debris methodically area-by-area according to the Master Sanitation Schedule (MSS), and emerging priorities. The critical focus is on the environment surrounding the food to prevent contamination during 1st & 2nd operations. This food industry position is also known as Sanitor and Sani-Tech.
Responsibilities:
- Within area-assigned machines, parts, utensils, and facility plant rooms, execute cleaning and sanitation practices utilizing power washers, hoses, small hand and power tools, and other equipment.
- Dissemble and reassemble machine parts utilizing hand and power tools to original run-condition.
- Pay careful, detailed attention to handling cleaning chemicals per cleaning operation, manufacturer user-friendly Safety Data Sheets (SDS).
- Learn and apply expert knowledge for compliance with:
- S. FDA Good Manufacturing Principles (GMPs).
- Bellisio Safety Standards including wearing assigned Personal Protective Equipment (PPE), and posted signs and plant rules
- OSHA Lockout/Tagout (LOTO) equipment standard
- Industry SQF Food Safety Code for Manufacturing (per sanitation).
- Report unsafe acts, conditions, and/or injuries.
- Report observations of any adverse food safety and food quality conditions.
- Complete light administrative compliance paperwork.
- Other duties may be assigned by supervision, quality, or safety team members.
Physical requirements:
- Able to stand 8-10 hours per day
- Able to bend or lift 8-10 hours per day
- Able to lift up to 50 pounds repetitively
- Able to climb stairs and ladders
- Able to do repetitive wrist motions/demonstrate good range of motion in wrists
- Able to wear rubberized personal protective equipment
- Certified pallet jack, powered lift, scissor lift operation may be required.
