About the Company: The Production Scheduler is responsible for developing, communicating, and coordinating production plans to meet customer demands and company goals. The position will optimize the use of the ERP system to support customer orders, focus on maximizing production equipment & provide reliable service levels to both internal and external customers.
About the Role:
WORK SCHEDULE: Full-time, exempt position; Monday – Friday, 7:30 am-4:30 pm, or as assigned by the Production Scheduling Manager.
ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Create and adjust the production schedule in relation to efficient manufacturing and customer needs, plan capacity requirements, ensure materials are available for the planned schedule, and manage inventory.
- Interface with Production, Shipping, Purchasing, Quality and Sales Departments to meet customer requirements and ship dates.
- Achieve optimal standards in on-time delivery, productivity, quality, and safety metrics.
- Monitor and manage inventory levels and optimize manufacturing efficiencies through effective capacity planning.
- Monitor capacity and workflow to maintain consistent production flow. Determine causes and solutions of schedule deviations.
- Communicate daily production schedule requirements with operations staff, supply chain members, and all applicable business stakeholders.
- Monitor and help adjust inventory levels to ensure accuracy using various inventory tools and methods of validation.
- Create and distribute reports with the ability to analyze data and to make decisions rapidly.
- Demonstrate excellent time management, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
- Actively participate and lead cost reduction and continuous improvement activities.
POSITION REQUIREMENTS:
- High School Diploma or General Education Degree (GED) is required.
- Associate’s Degree/Bachelor’s Degree in a related discipline or equivalent is preferred.
- Minimum two (2) years of production scheduling experience in a manufacturing setting preferred.
- Demonstrated understanding of production costs associated with downtime.
- Proven record of successfully working within a scheduling group.
- Must be proficient in the use of Excel, Word, and ERP software programs.
- Excellent analytical, math, and problem-solving skills required.
- Must possess strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Familiarity using data to forecast capacity and material constraints.
- Ability to apply Lean and Six Sigma concepts to the scheduling function.
- Strong customer focus and a passion to drive successful outcomes.
- Ability to use initiative and work autonomously when required.
