LHH Recruitment Solutions seeks a full-time Director of Payment Operations to work in a Hybrid setting for our client in Dublin, CA. This leadership role involves managing a team to ensure efficient and compliant money movement processes, including ACH, wire transfers, and mobile deposits. The Director will oversee payment systems, drive process improvements, and enhance service delivery. Key responsibilities include strategic planning, compliance oversight, project management, and vendor relations. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in payment systems, strong leadership skills, and a deep understanding of regulatory requirements.
Responsibilities:
- Strategic Oversight: Lead and manage the Payment Operations Department, ensuring effective direction and operations.
- Regulatory Compliance: Oversee daily functions to ensure adherence to regulatory requirements and handle audit results, including remediation plans, while serving as the liaison with auditors.
- Risk Management: Review and implement risk assessments for department functions to safeguard operations.
- Leadership: Provide leadership and develop tactical action plans to achieve organizational goals.
- Project Management: Direct and oversee project management activities to optimize departmental efficiency.
- Product Development: Manage the entire product development lifecycle, from ideation and requirements gathering to prototyping, testing, and launch.
- Performance Monitoring: Regularly analyze product performance to identify areas for improvement and optimization.
- Process Improvement: Drive initiatives for enhancing operational efficiency, service delivery, and productivity.
- Procedure Development: Develop and implement new procedures and systems for continuous improvement.
- System Enhancements: Lead the enhancement and automation of payment systems and account servicing.
- Operational Management: Oversee the development and deployment of new systems and enhancements.
- Regulatory Knowledge: Maintain up-to-date knowledge of regulatory changes and trends in the payment industry.
- Industry Research: Research and incorporate new developments and technical advancements to support organizational goals.
- Budget Planning: Develop and manage the annual department budget, ensuring adherence.
- Vendor Management: Evaluate, recommend, and monitor vendor performance, including conducting due diligence reviews.
- Service Standards: Ensure high service quality and consistency, and act as the primary contact for escalated member issues.
- Business Continuity: Ensure the Business Resumption Plan is established, reviewed annually, and compliant with guidelines.
- Coaching and Development: Conduct one-on-one coaching with direct reports to support their personal development and align with organizational goals.
- Collaboration: Build and maintain partnerships with leaders to meet overall objectives.
- Business Intelligence: Develop, maintain, and distribute productivity reports and analyze data to drive business intelligence.
- Industry Awareness: Stay informed on industry trends, regulatory changes, and competitive landscape to guide product strategy.
- Project Management: Utilize strong project management skills to prioritize tasks and handle competing priorities effectively.
Qualifications:
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, or a related field, or equivalent professional experience.
- Experience: Over 7 years managing payment systems such as ACH, wire transfers, in-clearings, and mobile deposits, with at least 5 years in a managerial role within the financial sector.
- Regulatory Knowledge: Deep understanding of EFT, NACHA, UCC, Reg E, Reg CC, Federal Reserve Regulations, and IRS Rules for IRAs and Health Savings Accounts, including handling levies, subpoenas, and court orders.
- Banking Knowledge: Familiarity with banking products, including savings and loans.
- Certifications: Preferred AAP (ACH) and/or NCP (Checks) Certification.
- Skills: Strong leadership, communication, and organizational abilities.
- Technical Proficiency: Advanced skills in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel and PowerPoint, with experience in generating reports and data analysis for business intelligence.
- Travel: Willingness to travel for team visits, training, and meetings, with a valid driver’s license.
Compensation/Benefits: $150,000-$165,000 + bonus
