Position Summary:
The Maintenance Manager will oversee all aspects of maintenance within our manufacturing plant, ensuring the optimal operation of machinery and equipment to meet production goals. This role involves planning, coordinating, and executing maintenance activities, managing the maintenance team, and collaborating with other departments to improve plant performance and reliability. The Maintenance Manager will play a crucial role in maintaining safety standards, minimizing downtime, and driving continuous improvement initiatives.
Responsibilities
Maintenance Planning and Execution:
- Develop and implement preventive maintenance schedules for all plant equipment and machinery.
- Coordinate and oversee routine maintenance, repairs, and installations to ensure minimal disruption to production.
- Manage emergency breakdowns to minimize downtime and ensure quick resolution of issues.
Team Management:
- Lead, mentor, and supervise a team of maintenance technicians, providing training and development opportunities.
- Conduct regular performance reviews, set goals, and provide feedback to team members.
- Foster a collaborative and safety-focused work environment.
Collaboration and Communication:
- Work closely with production, quality, and engineering teams to address maintenance-related issues and support operational goals.
- Communicate effectively with plant management regarding maintenance activities, progress, and challenges.
- Coordinate with external vendors and contractors for specialized maintenance services and equipment procurement.
Safety and Compliance:
- Ensure all maintenance activities adhere to safety regulations and company policies.
- Conduct regular safety audits and risk assessments to identify and mitigate potential hazards.
- Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, safety inspections, and compliance documentation.
Continuous Improvement:
- Analyze equipment performance and failure data to identify areas for improvement and implement corrective actions.
- Lead or participate in root cause analysis and problem-solving initiatives to enhance plant reliability and efficiency.
- Stay updated on industry best practices and emerging technologies to drive innovation in maintenance practices.
Qualifications
Education and Experience:
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Industrial Maintenance, or a related field preferred.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in a maintenance management role within a manufacturing environment.
- Proven experience in managing a maintenance team and overseeing complex maintenance projects.
Technical Skills:
- Strong knowledge of mechanical, electrical, plumbing, and hydraulic systems.
- Proficiency in using maintenance management software (CMMS) and other relevant tools.
- Familiarity with lean manufacturing principles and continuous improvement methodologies.
