Description:
Purpose of Position: To assist staff in checking patients in, vital signs, charting,
and documenting following providers orders and policy's.
Must have BLS & ACLS certification. To maintain a high quality of patient care.
RRT/CRT, LPN or RN .
Essential Functions: Must be proficient with obtaining accurate vital signs with knowledge of normal and abnormal limits, strong computer skills, strong written and oral communications and interpersonal skills. Staff must be capable of mature and independent judgment.
Requirements:
Tasks/Functions include, but are not limited to:
- Assures that the standards of operation of the department are in compliance with the standards set by SCH policy and procedures.
- Follows doctors' orders as he/she has ordered, assists Cardio/Pulmonary Coordinator in carrying out doctors' orders.
- Keeps up to date on in-services for new equipment
- Assists patients in proper equipment use
- Assists in computer charting, as directed.
- Assists in management of equipment in Stress Testing procedures.
- Assists in monitoring/scanning EKG's to patient charts be able to recognize critical rhythms.
- Maintains levels in inventory with placing the proper supply requisition to material management within a timely manner.
- Maintains continued education hours.
- Using independent judgment within your limitations.
- Participates in departmental meetings/activities.
- Maintains established departmental policies and procedures, objectives, safety, environmental and infection control standards.
- Prepares written documentation as required by the profession and the department for proper paper work
- Able to work closely with others in positive ways.
- Keep all spread sheets updated for certification and yearly certification renewal.
- Must be able to perform assessment, teach and provide effective intervention in the following realms ( Cardiopulmonary & Musculoskeletal Anatomy, physiology and pathology; Cardiovascular disease risk factors, nutrition, physical function and exercise therapy, psychosocial; health behavior, vocational and pharmacy )

- Risk of being exposed to blood borne diseases
- Contact of patients under wide variety of circumstances
- May be exposed to occasional different patient elements
- Exposed to unpleasant elements (injuries and illness)
- Subject to varying and unpredictable situations
- Occasionally subjected to irregular hours
- May be exposed to infections and contagious diseases
- May be exposed to hazardous body fluids and wastes
- Subject to burns and cuts.

Education, Qualifications, Experience: ACLS, Basic Life Skills with Certification
RRT,CRT, RN or LPN
Personal Characteristics:
- Must be able to work well with others.
- Follow Doctors orders.
- Take criticism well.
- Greet patients and other staff in a friendly manner.
- Must be able to run proper equipment.
