Ferretti Search is collaborating with a leading manufacturing company to find a skilled Quality Control Manager.
**MUST HAVE WELDING/ FABRICATION INDUSTRY EXPERIENCE.**
Location: Shelby, NC
Compensation: $100k- $130k
Schedule: Full-time, Monday-Friday, 8am-5pm
Work Arrangement: 100% On-Site

Your Key Responsibilities:
Supervise and Manage Quality Control Personnel:
- Oversee daily activities of the quality control team to ensure compliance with established procedures.
Process Control and Improvement:
- Develop, implement, and document procedures for process control, testing, inspection, and process improvement.
Drawing and Weldment Expertise:
- Possess expert-level proficiency in reading drawings, especially large weldments.
ISO 9001:2015 QMS Oversight:
- Manage and oversee the ISO 9001:2015 Quality Management System, ensuring compliance through internal audits.
Concurrent Engineering Support:
- Participate in design and development processes to support concurrent engineering efforts.
Metric and Quality Measurement Implementation:
- Establish and maintain metrics such as process capability, control charts, and quality measurements to monitor and improve system effectiveness.
Root-Cause Analysis and Process Improvement:
- Conduct root-cause analysis and problem-solving activities to implement effective corrective actions.
Review of Contracts and Customer Orders:
- Ensure all necessary criteria and provisions are included in quality and process plans by reviewing customer purchase orders, contracts, and change requests.
CMM and GD&T Proficiency:
- Demonstrate basic understanding and operation of a CMM (Coordinate Measuring Machine) or Faro Arm, and interpretation of GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing).
Calibration and Testing Program Oversight:
- Oversee calibration and testing programs to ensure they meet standards.
Quality Reporting and Audits:
- Report quality issues, trends, and losses to management; act as the Management Representative (MR) or Lead Auditor during internal and external audits.
Documentation and Compliance:
- Maintain up-to-date documentation for quality control processes, ensuring all revisions are current.

What You’ll Need to Succeed:
Educational Background:
- Bachelor’s degree in Quality Engineering or equivalent experience.
Welding and ANSI/AWS D1.1 Standards Knowledge:
- Extensive knowledge of welding steel products according to ANSI/AWS D1.1 standards.
Training and Manufacturing Expertise:
- Proven experience in training manufacturing staff and designing and implementing quality management systems.
Inspection and Documentation Skills:
- Thorough knowledge of inspection methods, techniques, and documentation.
Technical and Communication Proficiency:
- Strong computer skills, including proficiency in quality control applications, word processing, spreadsheets, and databases. Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Safety and Military Standards Familiarity:
- Thorough understanding of general safety requirements and familiarity with Military Standards.
Certifications:
- ISO 9001:2015 Lead Auditor certification and Lean Six Sigma Black Belt (LSSBB) preferred.

Physical Demands:
- Regularly required to sit, stand, walk, and occasionally bend and move around the facility.
Personal Protection Equipment:
- Safety glasses, steel-toed shoes, and hearing protection in designated areas on the shop floor.
Work Environment:
- Work is conducted in both office and manufacturing environments, with exposure to dust, odors, fumes, and noise.
