Job Title: Solutions Architect- Philadelphia, PA
Job Summary:
The Solutions Architect will serve as the Subject Matter Expert (SME) for wireless network systems within the Wireless Engineering Team, focusing on LTE, 5G, and Wi-Fi technologies. This role is integral to the evolution of MVNO wireless architecture, ensuring that business and customer needs are met through innovative solutions and seamless integration of new technologies and services. The successful candidate will play a key role in the growth and success of the Xfinity Mobile (X-Mobile) program.
Key Responsibilities:
- Wireless Architecture Evolution: Drive the evolution of MVNO wireless architecture, working closely with MNO partners, internal IT, wireless engineering, product, and support teams.
- Technology Integration: Define use cases and architecture for the XM product, ensuring smooth integration of new technologies and services.
- Network Performance: Analyze network performance data to identify areas for improvement and implement solutions to enhance coverage and customer experience.
- Issue Resolution: Promptly diagnose and resolve customer-reported network and service issues.
- System Integration: Integrate network systems with provisioning systems to ensure efficient service delivery and seamless customer activation.
- Billing Integration: Collaborate with billing systems to ensure accurate data flow and synchronization for customer billing.
- Stakeholder Communication: Communicate effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders, providing updates and recommendations.
- Industry Awareness: Stay informed about emerging wireless technologies and industry trends, proposing innovative solutions that leverage the latest advancements.
- Product Development: Participate in the development of new products and features that incorporate cutting-edge wireless technologies.
Core Responsibilities:
- Telecom Architecture: Provide senior-level expertise on decisions and priorities regarding the enterprise’s overall telecom architecture.
- Standards & Guidelines: Facilitate the establishment and implementation of standards and guidelines that guide the design of technology solutions, including the integration of multiple platforms, networks, and software across the enterprise.
- Network Analysis: Analyze existing networks and equipment, identifying opportunities for improvement, assessing system options, risks, costs vs. benefits, and impact on the enterprise’s business processes and goals.
- Documentation: Develop and document the framework for integration and implementation of changes to technical standards.
- Governance: Assist in developing and managing an architecture governance process.
- Technical Guidance: Provide technical guidance to project teams as appropriate.
- Industry Trends: Track industry trends and maintain knowledge of new technologies to better serve the enterprise’s architecture needs.
Must-Have Skills:
- Wireless Expertise: 10-15 years of experience in wireless engineering with major 4G/5G deployment.
- Solutions Design: Experience in designing solutions for 4G/5G networks.
- 5G Core Knowledge: Strong knowledge of 5G core networks, with some understanding of RAN (Radio Access Network).
- MVNO Experience: Experience in MVNO environments, understanding the wireless product stream.
- Communication: Proficient communication skills, with the ability to speak and present information to stakeholders effectively.
- Hands-On Experience: Must have direct, hands-on experience in wireless engineering, not just theoretical knowledge or oversight.
Desired Skills:
- Wi-Fi Knowledge: Familiarity with the latest Wi-Fi specifications, particularly Wi-Fi 6 and 7.
- Innovative Solutions: Ability to propose innovative solutions based on emerging wireless technologies and industry trends.
Education:
- Degree: Bachelor’s or equivalent work experience.
- Experience: 10+ years as a Solutions Architect with extensive telecom work experience in infrastructure/systems environments, including systems planning, architecture design, security, and optimization.
