Job Summary:
We are seeking a skilled and reliable Tack Distributor Driver to join our team. The Tack Distributor Driver will be responsible for operating and maintaining tack distributor trucks to apply tack coat materials on roadway surfaces as part of the asphalt paving process. The ideal candidate will have experience in roadway construction, possess a valid commercial driver's license (CDL), and demonstrate a commitment to safety and quality.
Essential Functions:
1. Safety always wins. Create a zero-incident environment for people by operating the motor grader in a safe and appropriate manner according to project specifications. Take personal responsibility for safety by wearing all required personal protective equipment and properly following company and OSHA safety procedures. Demonstrate a zero tolerance for safety violations by reporting problems to Supervisor, Safety Director, or HR Manager by making safety an everyday mindset.
2. Results matter. Operate tack distributor trucks to apply tack coat materials on roadway surfaces according to project specifications and safety guidelines.
3. Dedication. Ensure proper application rates and coverage of tack coat materials to facilitate adhesion between asphalt layers. Monitor tack coat application temperatures and adjust equipment settings as necessary to achieve optimal results.
4. Ownership and caring. Perform pre-trip and post-trip inspections of tack distributor trucks to ensure safe operation and identify any maintenance or repair needs.
5. Respect and engage. Coordinate with paving crews and other construction personnel to ensure timely and efficient application of tack coat materials.
6. Mastery. Maintain accurate records of work performed, including quantities of tack coat materials applied and areas covered.
7. Protect family and friends. Adhere to all company policies and procedures, as well as regulatory requirements related to roadway construction and commercial vehicle operation.
8. Committed to serve. Assist with other tasks on job sites as needed, including traffic control, equipment operation, and general labor duties.
Requirements, Education and Experience:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Valid commercial driver's license (CDL) with tanker endorsement.
- Prior experience operating tack distributor trucks or similar heavy equipment in roadway construction or paving projects, preferred.
- Knowledge of tack coat application techniques, materials, and equipment.
- Ability to read and interpret project plans, specifications, and other construction documents.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to maintain accurate records.
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
- Commitment to safety and adherence to all applicable safety regulations and protocols.
- OSHA card preferred
- Authorized to work in the U.S.

Travel by personal vehicle to work locations throughout the work region.
Work Environment/Physical Demands:
This position works outdoors in hot, humid and/or inclement weather. Heavy work that includes moving objects up to 100 lb. or more. This position works on or near moving mechanical parts and loud equipment. Requires the ability to sit or stand for long periods of time as well as lifting, bending, kneeling, squatting, climbing, walking, reaching, driving, and repetitive motion. Must have visual acuity to operate motor vehicles and/or heavy equipment.
