Summary
The Advanced Data & Analytics Architect participates in the design, implementation, and support of Smiley’s transactional and dimensional data warehouse development efforts, providing guidance and direction to clients and project team members. The Advanced Data & Analytics Architect interacts with all levels of technical and business resources to meet operational and strategic reporting and analytical needs.
Provide warehouse design, architecture, reporting, analytics, implementation, and integration efforts that include data sourcing and transformation.
Help define the process to ensure that the client's business goals and objectives are met by the proposed data warehouse architecture and design.
Leverage knowledge of current data warehouse and software development methodologies to contribute to the overall planning of projects by recommending approaches, identifying resources, and developing timelines.
Responsibilities
Support database development and requests in MS SQL Server and DB2
Develop conceptual, logical, and physical data models
Design and develop new data structures in online transaction (OLTP) and data warehouse (OLAP)databases
Build and maintain ETL SSIS packages
Perform impact analysis on data structure changes
Define and enforce database standards including sensitive personally identifiable information (SPII) and data security compliance
Review SQL for performance improvements
Manage automated database job schedules
Support global metadata data dictionary repository
Identify logical issues between database models and reports
Follow change management procedures
Provide cross-training and mentor other team members as needed
Provide after-hours support based on the on-call rotation
Support infrastructure changes as needed
Advise on new technology trends and possible adoption to maintain competitive advantage

Required Educationand Experience
Bachelor of ScienceDegree or Master’sDegree in ComputerScience or relatedtechnical discipline is required
