Position Overview:
We are seeking a passionate and skilled Occupational Therapist (OT) to join our team in Quakertown, PA, serving a secondary school population. The ideal candidate will have experience working with adolescents, a strong understanding of the unique challenges they face, and a commitment to creating a supportive and inclusive environment that promotes their academic and personal success.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide direct occupational therapy services to secondary school students with diverse needs, including those with developmental, sensory, motor, and cognitive challenges.
- Conduct assessments to identify students' strengths and areas of need, and develop individualized treatment plans to support their educational goals.
- Collaborate with teachers, parents, and other members of the school team to integrate therapeutic strategies into the classroom and home environments.
- Participate in IEP meetings, providing professional input and recommendations to support student progress and goal achievement.
- Monitor and document student progress, adjusting interventions as necessary to ensure optimal outcomes.
- Educate and train school staff on strategies to support students' occupational therapy needs within the school setting.
- Stay current with best practices, research, and emerging trends in pediatric occupational therapy to continuously improve service delivery.
Qualifications:
- Master's degree in Occupational Therapy from an accredited program.
- Current Pennsylvania OT license.
- Experience working in a school setting or with pediatric populations is preferred.
- Strong communication, collaboration, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team.
- Passion for working with adolescents and helping them overcome barriers to success.
