Project description:
- The Installation Technician II will install audio, video, and lighting integrated systems in commercial venues, houses of worship, governmental buildings and businesses throughout the country while working as a productive team member to meet established project design and deadlines.
- All installations must meet the highest quality standards set forth by our company while assuring a professional and safe working environment.
- Extensive overnight travel is required.
- Working over 40 hours in a work week may also be required.
Essential Job Duties:
- Anticipate and follow directions given by the Lead Technician, Project Superintendent, or Project Manager to ensure proper scope of work and to meet deadlines.
- Read and decipher blueprints and schematics.
- Use basic hand and power tools to install equipment.
- Trouble shoot and engage problem-solving skills when needed.
- Quickly process information, prioritize job tasks and meet deadlines.
- Solder and terminate cables and wires.
- Pull wire and cable as needed.
- Work cooperatively and effectively within a team, and offer guidance and assistance to lower level technicians when needed.
- Report on-site risks and issues to the Lead Technician, or Project Superintendent to ensure efficient resolution and to comply with the project timeline and budget.
- Ensure time card punches are accurate which includes clocking in and out of the correct job assignment.
- Drive our commercial vehicles which requires a DOT commercial driver’s medical certificate.
- Possess a valid driver’s license and a clean driving record; and the ability to pass background checks and drug tests for project security clearance as requested by customers and clients.
- Must be able to travel throughout the country to job sites by airplane or motor vehicle.
- Work from elevated heights and lift heavy equipment.
- Other duties of a similar nature and level may also be assigned.
Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
- Considerable knowledge and skill in installing audio, video, and lighting systems.
- ESPA and/or CTS certification is desirable.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- The ability to work effectively within a team.
- The ability to anticipate and follow directions.
- Possess or obtain a DOT commercial driver’s medical certificate.
- Possess a valid driver’s license.
- Considerable knowledge and skill in low voltage electrical installation and basic construction knowledge and skills.
Education and Experience:
- A high school diploma and up to 2 years of experience in commercial audiovisual installation; or any combination of training and experience which enables the candidate to successfully perform the essential duties of this position.
Physical demands and work environment:
- Employee is regularly required to stand, walk, bend, stoop, use hands and fingers, reach and push with hands and arms.
- The employee is frequently required to sit, climb and balance.
- Work requires ability to perform job duties on scaffolding, ladders and at various heights as well as extensive overhead motion required in order to install equipment.
- Work requires ability to lift fifty pounds on a daily basis and be exposed to warm and cold environments.
