Our client, a leading distributor of specialty, engineered and commodity thermoplastics is looking for a Purchasing Assistant for their growing organization. The Purchasing Assistant will be responsible for supporting the buying team and processing high volumes of purchase orders.
The starting salary range is $50,000.00 - $55,000.00 based on experience.

Purchasing Assistant Responsibilities:
- Provide buyers with administrative support to include; Process high volumes of purchase orders, expected shipment reports, inbound freight consolidation, bill of lading processing off drop ship orders, analysis and comparison of supplier order reports.
- Administer and assist with metric chart creation and logging data to ensure reporting for the purchasing team Weekly/Monthly/Quarterly/Annually as defined on Purchasing Related Good to Great Quality Metrics, Supplier Late Delivery Performance, Tuns/Aged Metric Reporting/Tracking, Supply Shortage Reporting, Total PO’s processed, etc.
- Inventory reconciliation and management of the hold/damage/Quarantine site to ensure resolution and follow-up.
- Assist and manage inbound certifications from Suppliers; obtaining, tracking on time/late certs, filing, requesting missing certs, auditing CP Pryme Certifications, creating CP Pryme certifications.
- Manage Supplier Cost Matrix by Administering changes, coordinating quarterly review and updated dates, including updating the supplier lead-time list, supplier information worksheet and the supplier listing.
Purchasing Assistant Requirements:
- Associate’s degree or higher is preferred
- 2+ years of Purchasing related experience in a high volume work environment
- Intermediate to advanced knowledge of the MS Office Suite
- Experience with Prophet 21 is a plus.
