Yoakum Community Hospital has provided healthcare since 1922. The 23-bed critical access hospital operates as a not-for-profit hospital managed by Community Hospital Corporation of Plano, Texas. Administers physical therapy treatments to patients, working under direction of and as assistant to the Physical Therapist.
Administers exercises, therapeutic massages.
Instructs, motivates, and assists patients and caregivers to learn and improve functional activities such as perambulation, transfers and daily living activities and home exercise program.
Observes patients during treatments and compiles and interprets data on patients' responses to treatments and progress and reports orally or in writing to Physical Therapist.
Fits patients for, adjusts, and trains patients in use and care of orthopedic braces, prostheses, and assistive devices such as crutches, canes, walkers, and wheelchairs.
Demonstrates competency in all procedures within scope of practice, as appropriate to the ages of the patients served; obtains and interprets information in terms of the patient's needs; demonstrates a knowledge of growth and development and an understanding of the range of treatments needed by these patients to include: infants, pediatrics, adolescents, adults, and geriatrics. .
Confers with Director of Physical Therapy to exchange, discuss, and evaluate patient information for planning, modifying, and coordinating treatment programs.
Performs clerical and housekeeping duties within the department, as necessary.
Maintains licensure and professional expertise through on-site and off-site continuing education.
Addresses complaints and resolves problems as necessary in the Director's absence.
Supervises aides and volunteers in compliance with related guidelines, rules and regulations.

Requirements
Associate's degree (A.A.) from an accredited college or university in a Physical Therapy Assistant program.
Current CPR certification.
Six (6) months to one (1) year related experience and/or training.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $26.00 - $32.00 per hour
