Job Summary:
We are seeking a highly skilled and adaptable home-schooling teacher to guide and tutor our child, through a personalized and unconventional education. The role is more of a mentor and tutor, following an established curriculum while encouraging critical thinking, creativity, and global awareness. The position requires the flexibility to travel internationally with the family and the ability to support our child’s unique talents in areas such as engineering, robotics, aeronautics, and multiple languages.
Location: California (with the ability to travel internationally)
Experience:
- Experience working with children exhibiting behaviors such as ADHD is required.
- Proven experience in an unconventional or flexible educational environment is a plus.
Key Responsibilities:
- Serve as a mentor, guiding through an established curriculum and providing additional tutoring as needed, focusing on strengths and addressing any challenges.
- Encourage the child to become a well-rounded global citizen, particularly through the mastery of multiple languages, including Italian, Spanish, English, and French.
- Nurture natural interests and talents in STEM subjects, particularly engineering, robotics, and aeronautics.
- Support piano practice by coordinating with piano teacher
- Maintain firm yet loving boundaries to help stay focused, emotionally regulated, and engaged in learning.
- Regularly assess progress and adjust teaching strategies to ensure academic success and personal growth.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in education or a related field; teaching credentials preferred.
- Proven experience teaching elementary and/or middle school students, especially those with ADHD or similar behaviors.
- Flexibility and willingness to travel internationally for extended periods.
- Fluency in multiple languages, particularly Italian, Spanish, French, and English.
- Ability to create a nurturing, positive, and stimulating learning environment.
- Patience, creativity, and a firm yet supportive approach to managing behavior and learning.
