Our client, a prominent real estate investment firm, is looking to bring on a corporate paralegal to directly assist and support the general counsel and other senior members of the real estate transactions team. You will be joining a team with decades of experience in the real estate industry and a company who truly values their employees’ wellbeing and work environment. In this position you will manage corporate filings for the firm, maintain an active timeline for transactional matters, and manage insurance related tasks amongst other broader responsibilities for day-to-day activities of the business. The ideal candidate for this role will have a corporate paralegal background and will need to have strong attention to detail and organizational skills. Real estate experience is not required but is strongly preferred. Candidates will need to be able to commute to Irvine, California for the majority of the week on a hybrid work schedule.
Responsibilities:
- Manage all corporate filings, including annual reports, tax submissions, and regulatory documents, ensuring legal compliance.
- Maintain accurate corporate records, organizational documents, and timelines to keep transactions up to date.
- Oversee insurance policies, including procurement, renewal, claims processing, and risk assessment, recommending coverage adjustments as needed.
- Coordinate with internal teams and regulatory agencies to gather, prepare, and submit necessary documentation for filings, reports, and legal compliance.
- Monitor and address filing deadlines, proactively resolving potential issues and discrepancies.
- Negotiate favorable terms with insurance brokers and carriers, ensuring adequate coverage and cost-effectiveness.
- Support real estate transactions by coordinating due diligence and managing loan-related documentation.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree or business college certificate.
- Four or more years of corporate legal secretary or executive secretarial experience is required.
- In-depth knowledge of real estate transactions, corporate structures, and associated terminology.
- Strong attention to detail, time-management, and the ability to prioritize tasks effectively.
- Excellent communication skills, with proven ability to engage with senior management and clients.
- Proficient in MS Office 365, Adobe, and able to work both independently and within a team.
- Corporate paralegal experience is not required but is strongly preferred.
- Ability to commute to Irvine and work in office for a majority of the week.
