Plans, manages, and coordinates the production of a plant to achieve the goals of the plant and business unit. Optimizes productivity, quality, customer deliveries and department profitability. Coordinates operations with all team members and support functions (Engineering, Quality, Logistics, Maintenance Support, EHS and Human Resources).
Responsibilities:
Ensures that the components produced/assembled are processed efficiently and cost-effectively in accordance with the prescribed technical requirements and quality standards.
Continuously analyzes production processes/programs and takes a positive approach to develop and implement improvements in productivity and quality. Uses statistical tools to support root cause analysis and process optimization.
Participates in annual budget, capital and strategic planning by providing information on manufacturing related requirements and capabilities.
Ensures that the production requirements comply with the customer's quality requirements and guides the development and compliance with necessary standard operating procedures and work instructions.
Ensures safe and clean working environment and informs the relevant operational services of the measures required to improve safety and the condition of the plant.
Coordinates the development and implementation of proactive, continuous improvement programs that leverage Kaizen practices and principles to improve quality, productivity, and profitability.
Acts as a liaison with department managers to assist in optimizing product quality by modifying production procedures.
Provides direction, coordination, and influence in the training of personnel occupying manufacturing supervisory positions to develop essential leadership, interpersonal and communication skills.
Provides grievance and personal counseling and communicates to all employees information regarding policies, procedures, and operational changes.
Completes other tasks or special projects as assigned.
Education and Experience:
Bachelors Degree in Engineering, Operations Management or a similar field
5+ years of experience in manufacturing leadership
Metal stamping experience. Hot stamp experience highly preferred.
