Position Summary:
The Watchmaker Supervisor performs watch repairs while supervising the quality & performance of watch repairs and the watch technicians, according to business objectives. This role acts as a technical advisor for watch services and performs trainings on watch products.
Accountabilities:
- Supervise all watchmakers in day-to-day activities. Plan and ensure team development and continued training, in alignment with management, according to the business needs. Monitor KPIs, provide quality feedback for watch team. Participate in recruitment and onboarding of new technicians. Compose and deliver annual performance reviews.
- Troubleshoot complex watch problems for all timepieces, including, but not limited to quartz, mechanical, & chronograph movements.
- Identify opportunities and implement solutions to improve repair times and processes, including but not limited to timing adjustments & cleaning movements. Ensure quality of service according to Bulgari standards and objectives.
- Encourage and maintain a high level of quality performance at all levels in the watchmaking and watch repair process. Participate in the coordination and development of both internal and external watchmakers.
- Maintain industry knowledge of watchmaking and repair service initiatives. Recommend and implement repair service tools and testing equipment to improve service levels across all locations.
- Knowledge of technical estimates and processes. Make quality assessments regarding team performance in the technical estimate process.
- Responsible for maintaining a clean and organized workshop area. Follow all company protocols for securing and storing company and customer-owned merchandise. Follow all company protocols related to destruction of parts.
- Ensure proper replenishment of all workshop consumable components for all locations (ALC, NY 5th, MCC). Monitor stock levels and advise on operational materials and tool needs required to fulfill service requests, in a timely manner.
- Ensure the watch workshop is in constant compliance with health & safety requirements.
- Identify quality issues and provide feedback to the Watch Business Unit. Acts as point of contact and reference between WBU and North and South American markets.
Qualifications:
- 5+ years’ experience in repairing & polishing high-end watches with sophisticated mechanical and quartz movements.
- Focused on details, prioritizes work and can maintain high standards of quality.
- Has a keen team spirit and sets priorities effectively.
- Clear and effective use of written and oral English and Spanish.
- Ability to respond quickly to fluctuations in work volume.
- Ability to work efficiently with time schedules and deadlines.
- Clear and concise communication skills.
