Commissioning Supervisor required for a Major Offshore Windfarm Developer in Virginia.
Responsibilities:
- Commissioning Supervisor, OFS will be responsible to manage and coordinate testing of OSS & WTG equipment and associated controls to ensure Contractor is properly following procedures and owner's witnesses are informed, prepared, and present.
- Onsite owner's representation to witness, inspect, audit, walkdown, and accept work activities and documentation related to commissioning
- Ensure electrical health and safety program is followed, appropriate and effective during all work activities
- Coordinate, witness, and engage in testing of equipment, instrumentation, and controls; ensure compliance with procedures and documentation
- Authorize, audit, and supervise electrical activities as needed as electrical authorized person
- Report on, review, and monitor OSS commissioning progress as needed
- Support OSS commissioning scope activities including onshore and offshore during the project
- Support Commissioning manager with project planning and preparation
- Manage and review OSS commissioning As-Built Documentation handover process
- Review OSS technical procedures, documents, checklists, and schedules for criticality and validity
- Assist in creation and review of commissioning plans and procedures
- Assist in creation and review of isolations, LOTO documents, energization plans of assets.
- Conduct and lead meetings with suppliers related to commissioning execution.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in engineering or similar education in mechanical and electrical subject.
- Minimum 5 years experience in mechanical/electrical construction or other relevant field.
- Proficient understanding of technical electrical documentation, drawings, single line diagrams, specifications, etc.
- Proficient testing, understanding, reading, configuring electrical equipment and measurement tools
- Experience supervising electrical work e.g. LV / HV, electrical safety, LOTO isolation programs.
- Experience supervising work on construction sites: onshore, offshore, on vessels, working at heights
- Ability to travel (domestic and internationally) as required; up to 50% of the time between different facilities. Current passport and valid driver's license required.
- Ability to obtain NERC authorization and pass background check requirements
- Ability to obtain GWO, HUET, and other associated certificates of fitness for work offshore
- Ability to proactively lead and manage multiple work scopes and objectives.
- Ability to effectively communicate in English and with those for which English is a second language.
- Ability to work as part of a diverse, international team, influencing decisions and reacting positively to challenges as the project evolves.
