Research Associate, Bioanalytical Development
W2 Contract
Salary Range: $93,600 - $104,000 per year
Location: Menlo Park, CA - Onsite Role
Job Summary:
We are looking for a highly motivated and scientifically rigorous individual to join our preclinical translational biology and assay development team. In this role, you will be responsible for conducting and supporting experiments to achieve specified deliverables and timelines, requiring high precision and meticulous attention to detail. The successful candidate will collaborate with a multidisciplinary team of scientists and have access to top-tier experimental and analytical facilities.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Plan, execute, analyze, and troubleshoot assays to detect proteins target and mRNA from experimental cell cultures and animal tissues.
- Work under the direction of a scientist to perform and optimize detection and functional assays of novel targets using automated western blot (Jess system), Elisa, MSD assays, and qPCR.
- Collaborate intra- and inter-team to work on several different projects.
- Maintain good laboratory practice and documentation.
Requirements and Qualifications:
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in molecular biology or related field with 1-2+ years of lab experience in the biopharma industry.
- Hands-on relevant experience in protein and nucleic acids
- Strong knowledge of basic principles of protein extraction, RNA extraction, PCR, qPCR, Elisa, and automated Western Blot analysis using Jess system
- Hands-on experience with automated western blot, Elisa, and MSD is highly desired.
- Able to maintain accurate and well-organized laboratory records, including electronic notebooks.
- Excellent organizational and oral and written communication skills
- Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills
- Can work independently as well as collaboratively within groups and interdisciplinary teams.
- Comfortable working in a fast-paced environment.
