Position Title: RF Engineer

Our client, a leader in the manufacturing of innovative wireless communication products, is seeking a RF engineer to join their close-knit team. This role focuses on new product development within long range communication products, offering an opportunity to work on exciting projects in a dynamic environment.
Overview:
This role involves a broad range of responsibilities aimed at supporting the engineering design team in various aspects such as testing, documentation, research, installation, troubleshooting, and analysis of wireless communication systems and products. The ideal candidate is a versatile team player, eager to tackle diverse technical challenges with innovative solutions. Collaboration with senior engineers will be key to ensuring project milestones are met efficiently.
Key Responsibilities:
- Partner with interdisciplinary teams to interpret and define system specifications, ensuring they meet product requirements.
- Engage in the creation of system designs, installation plans, and testing strategies.
- Design and evaluate systems and sub-systems to enhance performance, add features, address customer needs, and/or optimize size and cost.
- Collaborate closely with team members, clients, and partners from the initial project phase through requirement drafting, system development, and final integration.
- Provide technical support in constructing and troubleshooting wireless communication prototypes and products.
- Continuously learn about underground mining processes and techniques to facilitate effective communication with clients.
- Conduct RF measurement and testing within the facility.
- Participate in the research, development, design, and testing of electrical components, equipment, systems, and networks for various commercial, industrial, domestic, and international applications.
- Undertake other duties as assigned, including supporting proposal efforts.
Qualifications:
- A technical bachelor’s degree (Electrical Engineering) from a four-year institution and a minimum of 5 years of relevant experience is preferred.
- Experience in RF/Data Communications or Field Telecommunications is desirable. Experience with wireless site deployments and technical components is advantageous.
- Solid understanding of RF system configurations and testing (e.g., RF theory, antenna design, link budgets, RF measurement equipment, techniques, and simulations).
- Proficiency in technical planning as well as hands-on testing of RF/digital systems.
- Experience with CAD software for creating RF equipment layouts and coverage models.
- Ability to conduct technical training sessions and product briefings for customers, vendors, and internal teams.
- Knowledge of databases and networking concepts (e.g., MySQL, TCP/IP, Windows 10/11) is a plus.
- Familiarity with test equipment for PCB assembly troubleshooting and the ability to read schematic and PCB layout designs is also a plus.
