WCS Healthcare is working with Suffolk County's top Health System who has an immediate opening in their Pain Management Practice. This is a full time Monday through Friday 8:30am-5:30pm role with No Weekends!
Job Function: - Prepare your patient care area adequately, ensuring availability of necessary pain management equipment and supplies.
- Perform pre-procedure calls, evaluate for any contraindications for the procedure, evaluate patient knowledge of upcoming procedure and educate as needed.
- Conduct a complete history, physical and psychological assessment to evaluate your patient prior to any procedure.
- Monitoring of patients under sedation during procedures.
- Monitoring post-procedure patients' levels of recovery and consciousness from anesthesia and providing updates to the treatment team as needed.
- Treating pain, nausea, and other post-procedure symptoms of anesthesia and administering medication as prescribed.
- Educating patients and their families on post-procedure care, as well as answering questions.
- Assess post nerve block patients for changes to pain and the duration of relief.
- Triage patient messages on RN phone line and respond to patient messages and assess patient condition.
