James E. Fitzgerald, Inc. (JEF) is a full-service General Contractor & Construction Management firm based in New York City and Connecticut and has been in business for 54 years. Due to the expansion of our Northeast Regional work, we are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Construction Project Manager / Estimator to oversee the construction of high-end commercial interiors in Boston, MA.
Project Management Responsibilities:
- Lead all facets of project management (budget, schedule, procurement, quality & risk) for commercial, high end renovation projects.
- Demonstrate capability to read, understand and apply standard to sophisticated documents affecting real estate projects.
- Interface and be in direct contact with the clients to define project requirements.
- Perform project status reviews by monitoring project schedule, submittal/RFI logs and open items and craft action plans when necessary.
- Implement change management routines to assess change requests, make recommendations, secure client approvals, and issue change orders.
- Demonstrate ability to identify complex project risks, lead constructability reviews, develop and implement risk mitigation and contingency plans.
Estimating Responsibilities:
- Provide thorough, accurate and competitive cost estimates through all phases of design, from concept to construction and permit documents.
- Initiate and manage the entire bid process (CM and GC) inclusive of preparation of detailed bid packages and assure accurate and proper submissions/proposals by all subcontractors.
- Prepare on screen take-offs and estimate costs of materials, labor, and use of equipment required to fulfill all provisions of the contract.
- Solicit proposals based on drawings, bid packages, and subcontractor walk-through for each trade.
- Work closely with project superintendents on ongoing jobs with equipment and subcontractor coordination
- Develop and implement value engineering solutions to drive down project costs while maintaining a high level of construction quality.
- Attend client and/or team meetings to discuss estimates, answer any questions and resolve any issues regarding pricing and estimates.
Hours: Monday through Thursday 8:00AM-5:00PM, Friday 8:00AM-4:00PM
