Your Role
As a Technology Data Engineer, you'll be instrumental in managing the flow, ingestion, and accessibility of data to support the growth of our brand. We are looking for a proactive team player who takes ownership of their work and responsibilities. You’ll ensure the seamless integration and security of data within our data warehouse, focusing on consistency and organization. This role involves gathering and optimizing data from various external systems and enhancing our core business data applications.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead the integration and upkeep of external data repositories within the data infrastructure.
- Design and guide the evolution of data environments as new sources and tools are introduced.
- Support analysis and operations teams in preparing data for visualization tools and operational platforms.
- Implement and uphold data security practices, educating and enabling team members to maintain these standards.
- Continuously seek opportunities to innovate and improve tools and processes as technology evolves.
- Manage and monitor all systems and infrastructure to reduce downtime, mitigate risk, and ensure critical systems function properly.
- Oversee cloud-based data infrastructure (e.g., Azure, AWS) and primary database systems (MS SQL, Postgres, MySQL).
- Proactively identify issues, communicate risks, and propose solutions to leadership to ensure effective course correction.
- Develop and maintain automations that support operational activities.
- Manage assigned projects from start to finish, maintaining regular communication with leadership regarding progress and timelines.
Who We’re Looking For
We seek individuals who can build trusted relationships, demonstrate accountability, influence without authority, and possess a service-oriented mindset, agility, and curiosity. The ideal candidate will have the following skills and qualifications:
- BS/MS degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
- Proficiency in T-SQL and related query language protocols.
- 2-4 years of experience in technology or engineering, covering areas such as network infrastructure, cloud-hosted applications, and software development.
- Hands-on experience with database systems in cloud environments (Azure, AWS, etc.).
- Experience in database and peripheral development (PowerShell, Python, MS SQL Stored Procedures/Views).
- Familiarity with tools such as PowerShell ISE, Visual Studio Code, GitHub, and Postman or similar API tools.
- Strong understanding of IT equipment and basic enterprise infrastructure (workstations, servers, networks, peripherals).
- Independent problem-solving skills with great troubleshooting abilities.
- Ability to multitask and prioritize client issues effectively.
- Experience managing third-party development support.
- Experience with network and multi-site redundant database infrastructure setup and maintenance.
- Solution implementation and project management experience are a plus.
- Knowledge of Microsoft Power Tools such as Power Automate and Power Apps is a plus.
