Position Summary
Global Supply Demand Planning Manager plays a pivotal role in ensuring the efficient planning and management of material movements, supplier and third-party coordination, and forecast planning and analysis.
This role is fully onsite at our Ball Ground, GA Headquarters, 40 miles north of Atlanta. This role is NOT hybrid or remote.
The incumbent will provide pro-active and scheduled plans, reports, and dashboards, and respond to questions from management and leadership on the efficiency of scheduling, bottlenecks and risks affecting manufacturing timely and accurately. The incumbent is result-oriented and combines strong product management and cross-functional leadership skills, exceptional analytical skills, and a track record of success in driving positive and continuous improvement within the organization.
Duties & Responsibilities
- Prepare and present information for SIOP meeting and management review.
- Own governances of Global Master Data in MRP related planning code setting, material routing, and safety stock review.
- Lead activities in Distribution Resource Planning (DRP) principles for forecast demand, current inventory level, target safety stock, recommended replenishment quantities and lead time to minimize shortages and reduce the costs of ordering, transporting, and holding goods across a multi-site business.
- Engage in cross-functional activities to support New Product Development (NPD), Product Discontinue (EOL), and Product Change Control (CCB) process in revenue attainment.
- Hold project and meeting with key stack holders to improve supply chain processes and drive efficiency.
- Overseeing the daily operations of the planning department as they analyze customer and vendor demand along the supply chain and develop ways to forecast future demand.
- Implementing solutions to improve demand forecast accuracy to ensure accurate data in ERP.
- Translate and meet the customer/forecasted demand with efficient and executable supply plan.
- Advocate and implement solutions to improve demand forecast accuracy and inventory reduction.
- Work together with management, sales, marketing, and manufacturing to understand market trends, production plans, and strategic plans, and ensure effective forecasts as a result.
- Continuously adapt demand plans based on changes in the forecast, production, market, and business strategies.
- Develop and maintain an optimized inventory plan, balancing production, and sales forecasts with financial strategies.
- Create intercompany transfers and ensure timely availability of materials by coordinating with manufacturing and procurement departments.
- Provide delivery commitments to internal and external customers and ensure timely delivery of products.
- Create, update, and use automation and data analytics tools around supply chain activities to reduce redundancy in workflow and enable easy access to information for teams.
- Identify potential supply chain disruptions and develop contingency plans.
- Stay on top of industry trends and regulatory changes that could affect operations and supply chain initiatives.
- Implement and execute checks and participate in internal and external audits to ensure compliance with regulatory standards, including standards specific to medical devices.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in supply chain management, Industrial Engineering, or related field required. MBA or APICS or other professional certification is a plus.
- A minimum of 5 years of relevant experience in managing supply chain, demand planning or inventory management, preferably in our industry.
- Ability to thrive in an environment with evolving processes.
- Strong knowledge of continuous improvement methodologies and lean tools required.
- Critical thinker and problem-solving skills.
- Great interpersonal and communication skills, both written as oral.
- Sound time management skills, ability to work under pressure, balancing different sometimes conflicting, priorities and goals.
- Proficient in planning software, ERP tools, Data Analysis tools and Excel.
