About The Position
The Infrastructure Automation Team is seeking to contract a Senior Automation Engineer. You'll be joining a dedicated, ambitious, and diverse agile team who are focused on delivering operational excellence throughout the organization.
You will work collaboratively with Engineering, Server Operations, Network Operations, Application Services, and other teams across the organization to automate and build our on-premise DevSecOps processes; Self-Healing; and End User Self Service automation.
Our vision is to provide simplified, standardized, automated solutions to secure, standardized, highly available systems.
Key responsibilities include:
• Develop and deliver Ansible Playbooks.
• Ansible Automation Platform administration.
• Collaboratively work to design an automation framework to automate delivery of IT infrastructure services in an automated fashion predominately for our On Premise VMWare environment through Ansible Automation Platform.
• Provide subject matter expertise and have proficiency with multiple core technologies in our private cloud environments, including Windows and Linux operating systems, Configuration Management (Ansible), Container technologies (Kubernetes, Docker), Scripting Languages (Python, PowerShell), Infrastructure As Code Development (Terraform, Cloud Formation, Packer), monitoring and setting up of alerts for Cloud / Infrastructure components, Cloud specific networking / software defined networking (SDN) and security components and services.
• Work effectively with other teams to expand the role and capability of automation in IT management, using modern techniques.
• Engage in critical problem resolution and continuous improvement activities.
• Responsible for adherence to corporate regulatory and compliance requirements.
Qualifications
• 4+ years of experience with infrastructure development with Ansible (Ansible Automation Platform Preferred).
• 4+ years of experience with Network Automation of configuration, provisioning, etc. (Ansible Automation Platform Preferred).
• 4+ years of experience with VMware, vCenter, vSphere, Windows Server administration and Linux OS administration. (VCF Experience a plus).
• 4+ years of experience in scripting or development languages (Python, PowerShell, Bash).
• Bachelor's degree required or 5+ years of relevant experience.
In addition to the above qualifications, the successful candidate will demonstrate:
• Relevant experience in Infrastructure as Code development preferred.
• Relevant experience in an agile development environment preferred.
• Proficiency with infrastructure monitoring tools such as Splunk, AWS CloudWatch preferred.
• Self-directed learner who keeps skills up to date with the latest technologies, including pursuit of relevant certifications.
