About the Role:
The Chief Engineer oversees all hotel maintenance operations and the engineering team.
Responsibilities:
- Ensure aa Preventative Maintenance program for guest rooms, is executed.
- Maintain the safety and safety checks of all equipment and the operating working order of all equipment.
- Manage any and all 3rd party work that is bid out for repair and CAPEX projects
- Create a team environment in your department and with all other departments: Front Office, housekeeping, Sales and any 3rd party operations in the building
- Work safe utilization of proper PPE and comply with all safety regulations set for by the city, state and OSHA
- Perform general repair and maintenance of any and all equipment found in and around the hotel
- Manage your team, schedules, payroll, meetings and other duties as assigned by the GM
Qualifications:
- High school or equivalent education required. A trade school or bachelors degree preferrred
- 2 years previously supervising a team of 3 or more preferred
- 3 years experience working as an engineer for a building or hotel preferred
Required Skills:
- Mathematical knowledge around building and construction
- Full understanding and comfort working on a computer with MS Suite-Outlook, Word, Excel
- Have ability to estimate costs on projects related to refrigeration, HVAC, heating and machinery
- Use and knowledge of machine operating such as: drill presses, power saws, lathes, basic plumbing,
