Position: AWS Cloud Engineer - Migration Specialist

Job Summary:
We are seeking an experienced AWS Cloud Engineer with a strong background in cloud migration to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for designing, planning, and executing cloud migration strategies to move applications, data, and infrastructure from on-premises environments or other cloud platforms to AWS. This role requires deep knowledge of AWS services, strong problem-solving skills, and the ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams.
Key Responsibilities:
- Cloud Migration Strategy: Develop and implement cloud migration strategies, including assessment, planning, and execution phases for moving workloads to AWS.
- Migration Execution: Lead the migration of applications, databases, and infrastructure to AWS using tools like AWS Migration Hub, CloudEndure, and AWS Database Migration Service (DMS).
- Automation & Optimization: Automate cloud operations using Infrastructure as Code (IaC) with tools like Terraform or AWS CloudFormation and optimize cloud resources for performance and cost.
- Monitoring & Troubleshooting: Set up monitoring, logging, and alerting solutions using AWS CloudWatch, CloudTrail, and other related services. Troubleshoot issues related to performance, availability, and security.
- Collaboration: Work closely with application, network, and security teams to ensure seamless integration and operation of the migrated environments.
- Documentation: Create and maintain comprehensive documentation related to cloud architecture, migration plans, configurations, and processes.
- Security & Compliance: Implement AWS security best practices, including Identity and Access Management (IAM), encryption, and compliance with industry standards.
Experience:
- 6+ years of hands-on experience with AWS cloud services.
- Proven experience in migrating complex, multi-tier applications to AWS.
- Strong background in networking, security, and database migration to AWS.
- Experience with Infrastructure as Code (IaC) using Terraform, AWS CloudFormation, or similar tools.
- Proficiency in scripting languages such as Python, Bash, or PowerShell.
- Familiarity with DevOps practices and tools such as Jenkins, Git, Docker, and Kubernetes.
Skills:
- Deep understanding of AWS services like EC2, S3, RDS, VPC, Lambda, and IAM.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
- Ability to work effectively in a collaborative, fast-paced environment.
- Knowledge of cloud security, compliance, and cost management.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience with hybrid cloud environments and multi-cloud strategies.
- Familiarity with database technologies like MySQL, PostgreSQL, Oracle, and NoSQL databases.
- Experience with monitoring and logging tools such as Prometheus, Grafana, or Splunk.
