Salary Range: $120,000+ depending upon experience
Work Environment: Eligible for hybrid onsite . 100% remote until January 2025 pending new office renovation.

Position Summary:
The Inspections Division Manager is an engineering and operations manager for a fast-growing structural inspections division that specializes in low to mid-rise residential and commercial projects. The manager oversees and seals the work product of a team of project engineers, technicians, and interns, provides proposals for new work, and fosters new (and maintains existing) client relationships.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Responsible for profitable operation and growth of the Inspections Division and the achievement of long-term departmental goals as defined by the Director of Engineering
- Ensures the quality and accuracy of structural reports and finalizes and stamps structural reports prepared by the inspections team.
- Builds and maintains the inspections team through hiring, training, incentivizing, and coaching team members.
- Establishes standard work processes, automates processes, and codifies best practices for the performance and delivery of engineering reports and activities.
- Coordinates inspections pricing, turnaround, and scheduling standards with the Admin/Ops team.
- Responsible for marketing the department’s services, fostering, and maintaining client relationships, and ensuring exceptional customer service is provided by the Inspections Division.
- Other duties as designed by supervisor or executive staff.
Education and Skills Requirements:
- Bachelor’s Degree (B.S.) in Structural Engineering or Civil Engineering (with a focus in structures) and 7+ years of related experience and/or training; or a master’s degree in civil or Structural Engineering (M.S. or M.C.E.) or equivalent and 5+ years of related experience and/or training; or an equivalent level of education and experience.
- NC Professional Engineer (PE) license required.
- Structural Engineer (passed 16-hour NCEES exam) preferred.
- Ability to read, analyze, and interpret building Codes, professional journals, technical procedures, and governmental regulations.
- Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.
- Ability to write reports and other business correspondence.
- Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the public.
- To perform this job successfully, an individual should have knowledge of word processing software; spreadsheet software; drafting software (AutoCAD or similar); structural calculation software (Enercalc and RetainPro or similar); and structural modeling software (RISA 2D/3D, RAM Elements, or similar).
Supervisory Responsibilities:
Directly supervises staff in the Inspections Division. Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization’s policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.
Physical Demands:
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit and use hands to finger, handle, or feel. The employee is frequently required to talk or listen. The employee is occasionally required to stand, walk; reach with hands and arms and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision. Performance of site visits and other field work often requires crawling through confined spaces beneath structures and/or traversing and climbing through unfinished attics.
