Our client, based in Santa Clara, CA is searching for a Staff Digital ASIC Design Engineer as follows:
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Write specifications for digital components of mixed-signal integrated circuits and systems
- Work with analog and system IC designers to define digital component requirements
- Develop RTL to execute required digital functions
- Execute full digital flow, from functional requirements to layout, and eventually tape-out
- Build environments and write test cases for verification and functional validation
- Write C code for microcontroller-based system-on-chip verification and functional validation
- Write TCL scripts for design tool control
- Write Perl/Python scripts for design task automation
- Define bench-top test plans and verify performance and functionality
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Education: MSEE with 5+ years of experience, or PhD with 2+ years of experience
- Fluent in Verilog and System Verilog digital hardware description languages
- Experience in processor-based system-on-chip designs (exp. with ARM systems is a plus)
- Experience developing digital IP’s which interface with and control analog circuits (LDOs, ADCs, DACs, PLLs, OSCs)
- Experience with timing analysis and back-annotation for timing verification
- Experience with inserting test structures and generating test patterns for scan and BIST
- Experience with event-driven modeling of analog circuits (simulating small analog circuits within a digital environment) for full-chip verification is a strong plus
- Experience or willingness to learn writing verification plans, building environments (UVM), and writing test cases
- Experience or willingness to learn implementing physical design with synthesis and automated place-and-route
- Experience in low power digital design and power gating of digital blocks is a big plus
- Experience or fluency in TCL and Perl /Python scripting languages
