Area General Manager sought for Residential Services Firm – Long Island NY
Our client provides heating repair, air conditioning repair, indoor air quality sales, HVAC installation, maintenance, and repair service for both the residential and commercial HVAC market. Their technicians are highly-qualified, NATE-certified HVAC experts, and top-notch plumbers are licensed to sell and repair all types of water heaters, disposals, pipes and plumbing equipment.
The successful candidate will be highly qualified to direct and coordinate activities across multiple service centers within this region. They provide strategic leadership and oversight to ensure operational excellence, financial performance, and effective management of personnel and processes across their area of responsibility.
Key Responsibilities
- Analyze operating statements and key performance indicators for the assigned area, identifying trends and opportunities for improvement, and implementing appropriate action plans.
- Prepare and review comprehensive area reports, addressing operational challenges, financial performance, and strategic initiatives.
- Monitor and optimize determinants of profitability across service centers, implementing strategies to drive revenue growth and cost efficiencies.
- Ensure consistent application of accounting controls, payroll processes, and compliance with company policies and procedures across the area.
- Collaborate with service center leadership to set and achieve sales goals, leveraging effective marketing strategies, lead generation processes, and coaching sales teams.
- Foster a customer-centric culture, ensuring effective communication and delivering exceptional service experiences across the area.
- Leverage product and service expertise to drive value propositions, analyze customer segments, and identify growth opportunities.
- Uphold and promote company human resource standards, provide coaching and development opportunities, and manage employee relations across the area.
- Optimize vendor relationships and procurement processes, ensuring alignment with established vendor programs.
- Maintain a strong focus on safety, adhering to government guidelines and implementing best practices for handling accidents, emergencies, and risk mitigation.
Desired Skills and Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Operations, or a related field.
- 5-10 years of progressive leadership experience in one of these industries:
- HVAC, security, pest control, or similar customer service-focused industries.
