About the Role
NextWave is working with a leading renewable energy developer in the US to find a HVDC Senior Engineer for an offshore wind project. This person will lead the HVDC functions for the project from procurement through installation and commissioning into operation.
Responsibilities
Lead HVDC activities from engineering to installation, ensuring OEM standards and contract compliance (PSA, EWA, EPCIA)
- Provide technical input on HVDC converter design and operation, ensuring system integration and industry standard compliance
- Collaborate with internal teams, contractors, and regulators to deliver HVDC systems on time, within budget, and to specifications
- Prepare reports, track costs, assess risks, and review technical documentation to support HVDC project milestones
- Provide technical advice for commercial discussions, travelling as needed for site visits, technology evaluations, and inspections
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s Degree or above in Engineering (Electrical or Mechanical)
- Minimum of 8 years experience in Electrical Engineering for offshore projects
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for effective collaboration with diverse stakeholders
- Located in or willing to relocate to the Northeast US
