Position Overview:
We are seeking an experienced Environmental Conservation Planner. You will be involved in the reconnaissance, acquisition, development, and entitlement of mitigation projects, including mitigation banks, permittee responsible mitigation, In-Lieu Fee programs and turnkey projects. Collaborate with internal teams, consultants, and regulatory agencies to drive our mission of long-lasting environmental restoration.
Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare and secure approval of mitigation/conservation banking documents (Prospectus, Banking Instruments, etc.).
- Manage project teams, ensuring clear communication and successful project delivery.
- Develop project budgets and track financials against approved expenditures.
- Maintain detailed project schedules and manage projects to meet timelines.
- Engage with regulatory agencies to resolve project development challenges.
- Assist in process improvement and compliance tracking.
- Participate in business development through client meetings and conference engagements.
- Collaborate with nonprofits, community members, and stakeholders to build local relationships.
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Planning, Environmental Studies, Biology, Forestry, Landscape Architecture, or a related field.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience with CEQA, NEPA, 404 permitting, and mitigation planning or design.
- Knowledge of California’s biological habitats, species, and conservation.
- Strong writing and communication skills; experience with mitigation document development preferred.
- Understanding of federal environmental laws and policies.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a multidisciplinary team.
