Insight Global is seeking an experienced Data Governance Success Manager to join a Fortune 500 CPG company sitting hybrid (2 days/week onsite) in Piscataway, NJ. This is a full-time, permanent role with competitive compensation and health, retirement, and PTO benefits.
In this role, the Data Governance Success Manager will serve as an internal voice-of-customer for multiple internal business units, helping streamline and optimize data governance practices. This manager will train and gather user feedback on data reporting and visualization, then report it back to the technical teams to iterate on future releases. This means the Data Governance Success Manager will ensure nontechnical teams know how to use and find value in their relevant data while also discovering how the data reporting can be optimized.
To be successful in this role, it is not required to have a highly-technical background, as your primary users and stakeholders will be nontechnical.
Day-to-day repsponsibilities are as follows:
- Consult & support business and technology stakeholders in understanding data governance and data management driving enterprise data maturity, and developing data strategies
- Act as an overall SME in data management
- Engage domain data leaders and practitioners in identifying data problems and use-cases that can fuel operational reporting, analytics and/or overall data-driven decisioning
- Support the domain data leaders in implementing a data governance framework that aligns to enterprise strategy, policy and regulatory requirements and follows data management best practices
- Leads use case activation with prioritized domains and responsible for driving maturity and success; reports progress to stakeholders and leadership in data forums
- Leads and facilitates workshops aligning to defined data journey for use case definition and scoping, the build of data products, managing data definitions in enterprise data catalog, measure and monitor data quality and ensure data protection
- Builds the intake assessment and implements a prioritization framework to identify key use cases and domains to invest in for along with levels of service to support as many business customers as possible
- Develop playbooks and SOPS for data stewards to implement data governance and data management utilizing enterprise tools
Required skills and experience:
- Bachelor's degree
- 6-8+ years of experience in large data transformations focusing on data governance and data privacy
- Well versed in data governance general concepts
- Proven ability to manage multiple business stakeholders, including effectively engaging and aligning with enterprise senior leadership to drive data governance initiatives and strategies in line with the overall organizational goals
- Strong leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills with the ability to motivate and guide cross-functional teams effectively
- Prior CPG experience is preferred but not required
