Position Summary:
Quaker Houghton's Senior Engineer, Global Engineering Projects - Electrical & Instrumentation Engineering will work supporting new capital projects as well as capital project improvements for existing sites. This work will cover all project work phases from initiation and development through design, construction, commissioning and start up as well as supporting on-going manufacturing operations and maintenance.
Job Accountabilities:
This individual will focus on development of engineering standards, procedures, and guidelines for use throughout Quaker Houghton facilities related to instrumentation, automation and electrical systems in use at our facilities. The role will also include working on distributed control systems, PLCs, and other control logic elements as well as electrical systems involved in the operation of our manufacturing plants. Previous experience with automation systems in manufacturing operations is desired.
This individual will develop and review project plans and cost estimates for capital projects as well as support and/or manage electrical and instrumentation design needs for major and minor projects through outside and 3rd party contractors.
Education, Experience, Skills & Competencies:
The successful candidate for this position should possess an Electrical Engineering degree or other Engineering degree with suitable work experience as a subject matter expert in the electrical and instrumentation engineering field and in dealing with automation systems.
5-7 years working experience
The successful candidate should possess a working knowledge of chemical plant operations to support the development and implementation of safe operating procedures regarding electrical equipment selection for operations along with control systems needed for operations. The individual should also possess a working knowledge of HazOps and other PSM activities relative to I&E elements.
The candidate should have a broad electrical and instrumentation engineering experience background that can contribute new technology knowledge elements into QH production and maintenance functional arenas.
The candidate should also demonstrate previous capability to manage the execution of projects using FEL or PMBOK methodologies as well as utilize process improvement work process such as TPM, Lean &Six Sigma methodologies.
This position will require travel to various sites and working in an operating production environment. Travel should be <25% of the year and dependent upon company project needs. Base location for this position is flexible/remote but should be in the central or eastern time zones to better facilitate interactions with the many company locations. Previous international experience is beneficial.
