Summary:
Clients ’ Maintenance Project Execution Group (also known as “Tactical Projects” group) is in need of a contract Project Engineer to work alongside Project Managers to execute projects from inception through construction and closeout.
Duties:
• Typical project budgets range from $250,000 to $10,000,000
• The typical project duration is 1-1.5 years
• The project engineer will drive multiple projects simultaneously, which may be in different phases of execution.
• The Project Engineer and Project Manager work closely to advance the project through its schedule while coordinating with internal (i.e. Company) stakeholders including Operations, Field Engineers, Land, Survey, GIS, Drafting, Engineering SME’s, Project Controls, Contracts, Environmental, Construction, Asset Integrity and management among others.
• External stakeholders include other utility Operators, landowners, local and state agencies, vendors, engineering consultants, and contractors.
• Projects for this role will be located primarily in Mississippi, Alabama, and Georgia, but others may be assigned throughout Clients ’ US asset footprint.
• Intermittent field trips will be required for scoping, meetings and construction and are most often conducted between Monday and Friday. Project Engineers can expect between one and three site visits per month depending on project activities.
• Facilities projects typically involve troubleshooting, upgrading or replacement of natural gas compression or metering equipment.
• Pipeline projects focus on mainline valve replacements, pig trap installation/upgrades and mainline pipe replacements.
• The Project Engineer is responsible for overseeing or performing the mechanical and civil design scope; they will be supported by an electrical or process engineer as required by the scope.
• The Project Engineer is responsible for defining the project scope but is also responsible for cost and schedule as they relate to procurement and engineering consultants.
