We are hiring a Principal to join our small, entrepreneurial, and intensely collaborative team. Our Principal will primarily focus on fund operations for our venture capital strategies and will be central to our efforts as we expand and scale. This is a great opportunity for someone with solid accounting and operational skills who is also looking for an opportunity to grow as a leader.
What you’ll do:
- Venture Primary. You’ll be responsible for managing all fund operations related to our venture products and will report directly to the COO.
- Fund Accounting. You’ll drive the quarterly NAV process for our venture capital funds and SPVs, working with our fund administrator. This includes maintaining a shadow accounting book to verify and approve the administrators’ calculations and alignment with the fund’s governing documents. Additionally, you will work with the fund’s auditors to finalize the annual audited financials.
- Fund Operations. You’ll work with the team to plan and execute capital calls and distributions, manage fund expenses and cash flows, provide regulatory reporting, and respond to investor requests.
- Fund Tax. You’ll assess potential tax impacts of portfolio company investments and distributions and review tax filings from our tax preparer.
- Venture Valuation. You'll work with the investment team on the quarterly valuation process and assess financing and capitalization events to determine impact to fund performance and equity holdings. You will help develop and maintain fund performance modeling and investment attribution analysis for both internal and external reporting.
- Fund Launches. You’ll assist with the operational aspects of launching new fund products and co-investment vehicles, including onboarding service providers, opening bank accounts, coordinating with internal and external legal counsel on entity formation and fund documents, and onboarding LPs.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Economics, Accounting, Finance, or Mathematics.
- 7-10+ years of experience working in a fund operations role at a venture capital or private equity investment firm; or public accounting or fund administration firm focused on VC or PE strategies.
- CPA is a plus.
- Tax experience is a plus.
- Strong technical and analytical skills, sound judgment, and a focus on operational excellence.
- Proven ability to work collaboratively as part of a team, mentor junior team members, and effectively manage multiple projects concurrently.
- Skilled in issuing and reviewing audited financial statements.
- This position requires being onsite at our Santa Monica office three days per week.

Salary Range: $130,000–165,000. Compensation may vary based on experience, training, and education. This position is eligible for an annual discretionary bonus.
