OVERVIEW
This position will be a key contributor into the development of supply chain strategies that improve planning and visibility into supply chain and manage transportation. Will work with our vendors to move freight into our Fulfillment Center both domestically and internationally ensuring strong lines of communication between all parties involved. Work with small parcel carriers and third party vendors to ensure correct processes and optimization is in place for all aspects of transportation.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
- Prepares and publishes weekly and monthly service reports for all areas of outbound and inbound shipments. These include the UPS line haul, RTV shipments, cost avoidance, show control, in bound trailer aging, on order and prepaid/collect freight concerns.
- Routinely resolves complex issues. Proactively identifies trends and resolves problems
- Event Planning: work with Merchandise Planning partners to gather, synthesize and communicate key data needed for internal partners and Distribution/Fulfillment Center needed to prepare for and execute major freight flow events within the Global Supply Chain
- Utilize data and analysis to solve routine issues, expose problems within the supply chain and drive optimal decisions by bringing together information and key partners
- Develop Inbound receipt forecast and establish reporting tools to ensure flow of merchandise into Fulfillment Center is balanced, and within established parameters.
- Weekly analyze transportation spend, metrics, and develop action items to optimize or correct deficiencies.
- Work with Vendors on movement of freight into and out of FC, and ensure receipts are within compliance, and outbound freight is within expected SLA.
- Responsible for Vendor Booking/Routing for all freight (excluding DDP vendors)
- Ensures proper forms are received prior to shipments including: COC – Certificate of Conformity; GCOC – General Certificate of Conformity; WADS – Wearing Apparel Detail Sheet; CI – Commercial Invoice (for Customs); BOL/PL – Bill of Lading/Packing List; OGA - Other Government Agency/ PGA – Partner Government Agency as applicable
- Reviews ocean shipping timeline & provides updates to merchant team (moving faster or port congestion)
- Creates annual Shipping Grid used by merchants
- Provides updated cost of goods w/correct freight, duty, tariffs and misc. fees
- HTS code clarification if needed by vendor
- Other duties as assigned
QUALIFICATIONS / KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES
- Bachelor's degree in Business, Finance/Accounting, Supply Chain, Distribution, Logistics or related field, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Proven track record of fostering a positive work environment and partnering with employees to promote positive employee relations.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to communicate effectively across multiple groups, including warehouse teams and IT teams.
- WMS experience preferred; Manhattan and Intelligrated software experience preferred
