Our customer has asked us to assist them with a search for a Maintenance Technician III to join their team in a direct hire capacity. This position is from 6:00 PM to 6:00 AM with a schedule of 3 days one week, 4 days the next and back to 3 days the following. The salary range for this position is $65,000 - $72,800.
The Maintenance Technician III supports the Facility maintenance effort by performing complex preventative maintenance procedures, by performing predictive maintenance, and diagnosing and repairing complex electrical, electronic, mechanical, and control systems.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
- Performs assigned complex preventative maintenance work according to company standards ensuring the highest quality of work and that each step is fully executed; develops techniques to properly diagnose and troubleshoot issues.
- Responds promptly to sort calls; diagnoses the failure; makes required repairs.
- Develops, performs and instructs basic and advanced troubleshooting techniques to diagnose and repair basic and advanced mechanical, electrical and control system problems.
- Develops and performs techniques for the proper preventative maintenance diagnoses and repairs for Production and Packaging Lines
- Uses the CMMS (Computer Maintenance Management System) to enter and retrieve activity log information and reports and develops maintenance recommendations based upon those reports.
- Mentors other employees in the department; develops and provides training on basic and advanced troubleshooting techniques and the proper care of the material handling equipment.
- Understands operations from the operator point of view and uses this understanding to evaluate system equipment efficiency.
- Develops a working knowledge of the PLC (Programmable Logic Controller) controls, PC equipment and the electrical distribution system.
- Adheres to safety standards by promoting a safe work environment through attending safety committees, training, and verifying all safety concerns are addressed.
MINIMUM EDUCATION
- High School Diploma or GED.
- Associate’s degree in electrical, electronic, mechanical, or maintenance engineering technology preferred.
MINIMUM EXPERIENCE
- Eight (8) years light-industrial maintenance experience required.
- Six (6) years light-industrial maintenance experience required with preferred degree.
REQUIRED SKILLS, ABILITIES AND/OR LICENSURE
- Software skills, including use of Microsoft Office software and web-based applications.
- Ability to follow detailed instructions to complete routine procedures and/or operate standard equipment.
- Verbal and written communication skills necessary to communicate with all levels of management.
- Time management, organizational and multi-tasking skills necessary to work in a fast-paced environment, handling various tasks and changing priorities, while maintaining a high attention to detail and accuracy to achieve daily assignments and goals.
- Ability to anticipate and identify problems and use sound judgment and fact-based analysis to develop effective and efficient solutions.
- Ability to read and interpret shop drawings and operation/maintenance manuals.
- Ability to mentor, coach and act as a knowledge resource to other employees.
- Knowledge of mechanical design, layout, fabrication and repair practices as they apply to power transmission and conveyor belt applications.
- Working knowledge of motors and motor control methods.
- Understanding of electrical and mechanical troubleshooting techniques.
- Knowledge of the PLC and computer control circuits.
- Ability to weld, burn, and solder.
- Ability to read and create electrical and mechanical schematic diagrams.
- Ability to work with minimum supervision.
