SUMMARY
Family Service League is seeking a full-time Counselor to provide individual and group therapy to children, families, and adults with the full range of DSM diagnoses in an integrated licensed clinic, providing both substance use, mental health, and primary care services.

RESPONSIBILITIES
- The Counselor will conduct intake assessments.
- Provide individual and group therapy to adults, adolescents, and children with the full range of DSM diagnoses, including both mental health and substance use disorders, in an acute care, outpatient setting. Periodic, field-based work required.
- Complete all clinical documentation in accordance with NYS Office of Mental Health in an electronic medical record (EMR).
- The Counselor will provide linkage and follow up to clients during stabilization period and immediately following.
- Coordinate with outside providers and collateral contacts.
- Attend routine supervisions and team meetings.
- Coordinate treatment with a multidisciplinary team.
- The Counselor will complete training and maintain proficiency with de-escalation and physical restraint skills.
- Establish and maintain positive working relationships with others, both internally and externally.
- Foster teamwork, work cooperatively and effectively with others to set goals, resolve problems, and make decisions.
- Assess situations to determine the importance, urgency, and risks, and make clear decisions which are timely and in the best interests of the organization.
- Set priorities, develop a work schedule, monitor progress towards goals, and track details, data, information, and activities.
- Assess problem situations to identify causes, gather and process relevant information, generate possible solutions, and make recommendations and/or resolve the problem.
- All other duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS
Master’s degree in social work required.
LMSW, LMHC, LMFT or related licensed clinical degree required.
Limited permit holders are eligible to apply.
Minimum of 1 year of experience in a behavioral health setting required; clinic experience preferred.
Prior experience diagnosing using the DSM V and experience with behavioral/therapeutic interventions for children, adolescents, and adults preferred.
Proficient computer skills, including Microsoft Office and Electronic Health Records required.
Valid and clean NYS Driver’s License required.
Bilingual Spanish strongly preferred.
Some evening and weekend hours may be required.
