Scott Humphrey has partnered with a large and reputable general contractor to assist in finding the Construction Project Manager for their headquarter in Austin, TX. As the assistant Project Manager will have a strong track record of completing new ground Construction of Healthcare, School/K12, and Commercial projects, ensuring their successful delivery within schedule and budget along with the ability to manage vendors, subcontractors, and field staff throughout the project.
About the Company:
- Commercial General Contractors seeking an APM for ground up commercial, healthcare and industrial projects ranging $2M - $10M in size
- They believe in their ability train, coach, and develop from the bottom to the top
- Projects are assigned based on where each PM, Superintendent, PE, and Asst Super live so that the commute is as short as possible
What's on Offer: Base salary 60-90K, opportunity for yearly bonus, and career progression.
- The Assistant Project Manager will provide support to the Project Manager and Project Superintendent in providing the overall administrative, financial, and technical direction of a project.
- This position will work directly with the Project Manager to ensure projects are constructed in accordance with contract, design, budget, and schedule requirements.
Select Responsibilities:
- Develop and maintain material tracking logs
- Research, develop and write detailed RFI’s
- Coordinate with Design team for efficient responses to submittals and RFI’s
- Present in weekly project status meetings
- Assist with project forecasting and month end financial reporting
- Manage changes and ensure proper distribution of construction documents and/or project scope to ensure that the most current documents are being used
- Coordinate with project team to ensure materials are available when needed on site
- Review and verify constructability of plans and specifications
- Contribute to the buy-out process by requesting and reviewing bids and aligning budgets as necessary to create subcontracts
- Perform detailed review and processing of project submittals
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or related discipline
- Minimum 2 years' experience in construction industry, preferably on ground up, new commercial construction projects (Healthcare, K-12, office space, hospitality, cultural, life sciences, higher education, or interior upfit/renovations)
- Efficient knowledge in construction computer software and Microsoft Suite
