Sr. Process Engineer
We are seeking an experienced process engineer to provide chemical process engineering expertise; the primary responsibility of this role is to act as a subject matter expert at the plant level regarding manufacturing improvement and best practices.
Scope:
- Provide technical support for operations, product chemists, EHS, and maintenance.
- Interact on teams that include operators, mechanics, chemists, management, other engineers and staff
- Work closely with maintenance staff to identify and develop equipment reliability improvements.
- Troubleshoot equipment and process problems to identify root cause, then provide recommendations and implement preventive measures.
- Develop new processes, assess and document new and existing processes.
- Implement and evaluate changes to existing processes designed to improve product quality, productivity and overall equipment efficiency.
- Provide technical leadership and mentorship to process technicians, operators and other personnel.
- Trial new tooling and equipment and make modifications as needed to meet quality and production goals.
- Lead and participate in value added activities for ongoing cost reductions.
- Monitor all manufacturing processes and maintain optimization of all equipment; provide support to structure as required.
- Implement process and equipment upgrades for continuous improvement efforts and to support new business initiatives.
- Capital upgrade project responsibilities including investigation, definition, business case development, process design, implementation, construction support, commissioning, and training.
- Understand health, safety and environmental regulations and apply to equipment to assure personnel and plant safety.
- Participate in process safety reviews.
- Implement process improvements that will increase the ability to meet customer requirements, including safe and reliable operations, and improve competitiveness using Six Sigma methodology as applicable.
Requirements:
Bachelors degree in Chemical Engineering required
- Experience in chemical manufacturing environment
- Able to lead and participate on project teams
- Demonstrated computer skills, including MS Office
- Understanding of chemical process controls
Salary $95k-115k plus bonus and benefits
