Position Overview:
We are seeking a dynamic and experienced HR Director to join our clients rapidly growing cannabis company. This individual will play a pivotal role in shaping the HR landscape of the organization, driving the development of HR policies, procedures, and SOPs across all levels, including the cultivation and production facilities. The ideal candidate will be a seasoned HR professional with executive-level expertise in policy creation and hands-on experience in a startup environment. This position requires a leader who can be both firm and empathetic, balancing the need for order with a deep understanding of employee well-being. This is a Hybrid position, that will require the HR Director to head onsite around multiple facilities in the Orlando Metro.
Key Responsibilities:
- Policy Development: Design, implement, and maintain HR policies, procedures, and SOPs that align with our company’s goals and comply with state regulations, particularly in the highly regulated cannabis industry.
- HR Structure Creation: Build and develop an HR structure that supports our rapidly expanding organization, ensuring scalability and compliance across all departments and locations.
- Employee Relations: Serve as a trusted advisor to leadership and employees, fostering a positive and productive workplace culture. Manage conflict resolution, employee grievances, and disciplinary actions with a fair and empathetic approach.
- Recruitment & Talent Management: Lead recruitment efforts to attract top talent, oversee onboarding processes, and develop talent management strategies that support employee growth and retention.
- Compliance & Risk Management: Ensure compliance with all relevant labor laws, health and safety regulations, and cannabis-specific guidelines. Proactively identify and mitigate HR-related risks.
- Training & Development: Develop and implement training programs that enhance employee skills, knowledge, and engagement, with a focus on compliance, safety, and professional development.
- Leadership & Strategy: Collaborate directly with the executive team to align HR strategies with business objectives, providing insights and recommendations to support company growth and success.
- Hands-On Involvement: Embrace a hands-on approach, willing to roll up your sleeves and directly address challenges as they arise, particularly in a startup environment where adaptability is key.
Qualifications:
- Master’s degree in human resources (MSHR) or related preferred
- SHRM-SCP certification required; additional HR certifications are a plus
- Minimum of 7-10 years of HR experience, with at least 3 years in a director-level role.
- Proven experience in the cannabis industry or another highly regulated industry is preferred.
- Strong knowledge of Florida labor laws and cannabis-specific regulations.
- Executive-level experience in writing and implementing HR policies and procedures.
- Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to influence and collaborate with all levels of the organization.
- Demonstrated ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment, with a willingness to get involved at all levels of HR operations.
- Strong leadership qualities with the potential for growth into a VP-level role.

Salary:
- $125,000 - $130,000 Base Salary with opportunity for raise with company expansion.
