Job Description Summary The Exhaust Integration Lead will provide leadership for initiatives with broad scope & high business impact. They will be a recognized expert in exhuast design disciplines and communicate across all disciplines. Responsibility includes requirements, guiding new product introduction, and leading implementation of solutions consistent with business & technical objectives. Owns/influences budgets and operating plans. The role is guided by operating policy. Works with cross functional teams. The role has autonomy within the operational area or a segment within a larger business unit. The role may have a major impact on a small business unit or Family within a Function or P&L. High levels of evaluative judgment and operational acumen are required to achieve outcomes.
Job Description Roles and Responsibilities:
- Provide technical and program management leadership in the integration across exhaust disciplines with limited guidance.
- Develop collaborative system level solutions in concert with the Platform and Systems Integration Leaders
- Formulate and guide teams toward implementation plans to achieve technical requirements, schedules, and contract commitments.
- Provide leadership defining test plans that meet program objectives.
- Provide technical guidance to other personnel and assigned teams, mentor others in the organization.
- Assure proper documentation of technical data generated for the assigned projects and/or tasks consistent with engineering policies and procedures.
- Monitor and communicate project status, business issues and significant developments
- Lead or participate in organizational efforts in assigned projects and/or tasks
- Participate as a presenter or reviewer in technical and program reviews
- Provide leadership to help focus and integrate new technologies smoothly into NPI programs and production
- Stay cognizant of the GE Aerospace technology roadmap to determine how pipeline technologies can benefit the platform and communicate to the technology council what technologies will be needed to support a future product
- Support proposals
- Support the teams in modernizing design and systems engineering processes with lean tools.
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor of Science in Engineering from an accredited university or college
- Minimum of 5 years' experience in a gas turbine engineering position
