Amazon Web Services (AWS) is seeking a Strategic Business Development leader to focus on the 4th Estate Defense Agencies. At AWS, customer obsession is in our DNA. The successful candidate will become a trusted adviser to our customers and will work with AWS sales, business development, and solution architects to provide needed cloud capability to the 4th Estate Defense Agencies. This will also include the opportunity to drive new requirements and capabilities into AWS's vast portfolio of services.
This business development effort closes an important gap at federal agencies today by advising senior agency leaders on business and technical plans that move away from on-premises, hybrid, and private cloud strategies. Supported by a team of AWS Solutions Architects, service teams and senior engineers, you will work with Federal Executives to develop strategies that improve the Department of Defense capabilities, accelerate the change process and promote cloud-based solutions for the 4th Estate Defense Agnecies
This position requires that the candidate selected be a US citizen and currently possess and maintain an active Top Secret/SCI security clearance.
Key job responsibilities
Serve as a key advisor and member of the leadership team for the 4th Estate Defense Agency, Senior Sales Manager, to drive overall AWS strategy and execution within the Defense Agency market.
Work closely with DoD CIO and DoD senior leaders at 4th Estate Agencies on internal and external IT strategies.
Define and execute a strategic market development plan that identifies cross organizational opportunities in partnership with key internal stakeholders (e.g. sales teams, service teams, marketing, partner team, legal, support, etc.).
Define and size opportunities across the DoD customer space, identify and engage key customers, and identify and engage key industry partners including Independent Software vendors (ISV's) and system integrators (SIs).
Support business development pipeline by engaging with key prospects and industry partners.
Understand the technical requirements of our customers and work closely with the internal development teams to guide the direction of our product offerings.
Present business reviews to the AWS senior management team regarding progress and roadblocks to expanding our reach in the industry.
Handle a high volume of engagements and interactions in the fast pace of the cloud computing market.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS - 7+ years of technical sales in B2B environments, in a solution-sales / technology-related environment experience
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent
- Experience with CRM tools such as Salesforce, and web-based meeting applications
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS - AWS Certification (Cloud Technologist, Solutions Architect, SysOps Administrator, Developer)
- Knowledge of existing and developing technologies
- Experience working in complex IT environments or equivalent
