Position Summary:
The Warehouse Lead is responsible for overseeing day-to-day warehouse activities, ensuring efficient and accurate processing of inbound/outbound shipments, inventory management, and team leadership. The role involves supervising warehouse staff, ensuring safety protocols, and optimizing warehouse processes to meet client needs and operational goals.
Key Responsibilities:
- Supervision & Leadership:
- Lead, mentor, and train warehouse staff, ensuring productivity and adherence to company standards.
- Assign daily tasks to team members and monitor progress to meet operational targets.
- Conduct regular team meetings to communicate goals, safety protocols, and operational updates.
- Operational Efficiency:
- Coordinate and oversee the receiving, picking, packing, and shipping of client goods.
- Ensure all inbound/outbound shipments are processed accurately and on time.
- Optimize warehouse processes and layouts to maximize space and improve workflow efficiency.
- Inventory Management:
- Manage and maintain accurate inventory records through regular cycle counts and audits.
- Investigate and resolve inventory discrepancies, reporting any issues to the Warehouse Manager.
- Ensure proper labeling, storage, and handling of goods to minimize damage and loss.
- Health & Safety:
- Enforce health and safety regulations in the warehouse, ensuring the well-being of all team members.
- Conduct regular safety inspections and report hazards or unsafe practices to management.
- Promote a culture of safety and accountability within the team.
- Client Satisfaction:
- Ensure service levels meet client expectations by maintaining accurate and timely order fulfillment.
- Collaborate with customer service teams to address client concerns and resolve issues.
- Assist in implementing client-specific warehouse processes to meet contractual obligations.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent; additional education in logistics or supply chain management is a plus.
- 3+ years of experience in warehouse operations, with at least 1 year in a leadership or supervisory role.
- Strong knowledge of warehouse management systems (WMS) and inventory management practices.
- Forklift certification is preferred but not required.
- Excellent problem-solving skills, with the ability to make decisions quickly in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong leadership and team-building skills, with a focus on promoting a positive work environment.
- Ability to lift and move objects up to 50 lbs and stand for extended periods.
