Job Overview:
The client are seeking a skilled and experienced Workers' Compensation Defense Attorney to join their team on a full-remote basis. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in workers' compensation law, with a proven track record of defending employers and insurance carriers. This role offers the flexibility of working from home while engaging in challenging and meaningful legal work.
Key Responsibilities:
- Case Management: Independently handle a caseload of workers' compensation defense cases from inception through resolution, including depositions, trials, and settlement negotiations.
- Client Interaction: Provide legal counsel to clients, offering strategic advice and keeping them informed of case developments.
- Legal Research and Writing: Conduct thorough legal research and draft comprehensive legal documents, including motions, briefs, and settlement agreements.
- Court Appearances: Represent clients in hearings, depositions, and trials before the Workers' Compensation Appeals Board and other relevant venues.
- Negotiation: Engage in settlement negotiations with opposing counsel, leveraging strong negotiation skills to achieve favorable outcomes for clients.
- Collaboration: Work closely with a remote team of attorneys, paralegals, and support staff to ensure efficient case management and client satisfaction.
Qualifications
- Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from an accredited law school.
- Admission to the Bar is in California and in good standing.
- Experience: 1 - 10+ years of experience in workers' compensation defense law.
