Alliance HRMG has been retained by one of our customers, a large family owned grower, packer, and shipper of citrus commodities experiencing rapid growth, to support the search of a highly talented and driven Food Safety Manager.
Job Summary
In this crucial role, you will be responsible for implementing and overseeing food safety programs to ensure compliance with all relevant regulations and standards. Your primary goal will be to safeguard the well-being of our customers by maintaining the highest standards of food safety throughout our operations.
Duties/Responsibilities
• Training the sanitation workforce in safe work practices as well as developing and maintaining a safe and effective work environment.
• Survey current and potential growers (Ranch Site Risk Assessment)
• Facilitating regulatory inspections (OSHA, Department of Health, City & County inspectors)
• Conduct Mock Recalls to ensure all systems are covered should an actual recall occur.
• Conduct or assign training required by Global G.A.P. including but not limited to Hygiene training and first aid.
• Supply growers with all current and required documents.
• Conduct residue test based off their country of export.
• Conduct chemical, physical, and microbiological water analysis
• Set up initial meetings with growers to establish the scope of audit (1 PSS Produce Handling)
• Manage, track, and organize all data related to Global G.A.P.
• Pre-audit as a certified internal audit to conduct pre-audit as a check-list requirement.
• Evaluate audits to establish compliance with verification requirements.
• Conduct Harvest assessments along with pre-audits.
• Conduct Certificate of Analysis (COA), Residue Water Soil and Tissue
• Audit grower record keeping and ensuring compliance with announced and surveillance Good Agricultural Practices audits.
• Ensure passing of unannounced audits and avoid costly product recalls.
• Execute and oversee Corrective Action Reports
• Develop new programs that will enhance The Global G.A.P. program.
• Provide quality training to employees while promoting a Food Safety Culture in the plant.
• Maintain and manage the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) Sanitation Standards Operating procedures (SSOP) programs and review daily documentation generated to assure regulatory and specification compliance.
• Oversee plant sanitation and pest control programs. Ensure compliance with Hazard Analysis and Critical Control Point (HACCP), process and quality Standard Operating Procedures, and adherence to Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) standards.
• Interface with Customer-auditors, third party auditors, and county, state, and federal agencies as pertains to audits, GMP, HACCP, regulatory, quality, and food safety issues.
• Perform other duties as assigned to support and improve the overall operation.
Qualifications/Requirements
• Spanish Bi-lingual a plus
• Stay up to date with the latest developments in food safety and quality regulations and best practices.
• Knowledge of chemicals used to clean and sanitize.
• Ethical conduct
• GFSI Certification Global G.A.P.
• FSMA Train the Trainer Certified
• Global GAP, latest version
• Internal Auditing Certified
• HACCP Certified
• Knowledge of HAZMAT
• Pest Control knowledge preferred.
• Must have a valid driver’s license.
• Leadership and supervisory experience are essential and required.
• Serve on Cobblestone Fruit Food Safety Committee
• Knowledge of food safety principles and Good Handling Practices
