Description of Duties
Title: Assistant Merchant
Classification: Nonexempt
Hourly Range*: $26.44-$28.84/hr
Location: Van Nuys, CA (HQ)
Schedule*: Hybrid, Monday through Friday 9:00AM-5:30PM (in office minimum 3 days/week)
We are seeking an exceptional Assistant Merchant to join us at our corporate office in Van Nuys. This position reports to the Merchandising Manager and will directly support business growth by providing data analysis and trend insight to help shape future product lines and drive performance of existing lines. While the role is Merchandising-focused, it will encompass elements of Buying and Planning as well. Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Preparation and basic analysis of sales and inventory reports for cross functional as well as internal team distribution.
3rd party product - monitor selling and inventory, write and upload replenishment orders, and ownership of vendor communication.
Maintain accuracy of seasonal buy sheets, staying on top of merchandising and design changes daily.
Upload merchandising hierarchy and other attributes into ERP system, ensure data accuracy and update changes daily.
Upload retail and wholesale prices in ERP system for upcoming product launches.
Provide optimized size breaks to production team for purchase orders.
Create and distribute top investment decks to executive, marketing and communications teams.
Support flow of information from cross functional teams (product, content, marketing, etc.) to and from merchandising.
Partner with production team to chase deliveries of key product.
Partner with site merchandising and content teams to ensure top investments prominently featured.
Manage Merchandising & Planning department calendar and flag upcoming key milestones to team.
Support Merchandising & Planning team in preparation for key business meetings (assortment planning, line reviews, marketing calendar planning).
Pull ad hoc reporting to support merchandising decisions.
Competitive analysis and market research as needed.

Qualifications
1 year experience in a Merchandising or Buying role (internships included)
Bachelor’s Degree required
Must be proficient in Excel (vlookups and pivot tables) with an understanding and prior use of retail math
NetSuite experience a plus
Physical Requirements
Must be able to perform essential duties satisfactorily with reasonable accommodation.
Periods sitting at a desk, typing, sketching and working on a computer.
Able to life/move/push/pull objects up to 25 lbs.
Able to walk, sit and stand for periods of time.
Able to operate equipment such as computers, copy machines, phones.
Must be able to access various areas of a given location.
